Not Exactly a Stairway to Heaven

Not Exactly a Stairway to Heaven

We suppose you all are old enough to remember “Stairway to Heaven”, the song by the English rock band Led Zeppelin. This is not a stairway to heaven. It is just a short little stairway in Oslo, Norway, photographed in the night. Cold and lonely, but neither leading to heaven nor to hell. Just helping you get up the little hill – and with a light to lead your way at the top – which is not to bad either, for a stairway……
Handheld, we took two pictures and combined them to reduce the noise. First time we tried this combinations and are quite pleased with the result. The two handheld single pictures have visibly more noise than this combined one!

  1. Nice exposure you’ve created in this image. And yes, I remember the song from my middle school days when it was overplayed on the radio.

  7. When this first opened and I saw the top half I thought it was a raised rail track or ride of some sort then the stairs appeared was a cool transition to see, have never tried combining two shots but it sure worked well here

and yes I remember the song well, if I remember rightly is about 8 Min long which was quite unusual but so cool a song I still love it

  20. This looks quite familiar. If I’m correct this is not far from where I live. Could you tell me where exactly it is taken in Oslo?

Ser mye lengre ut her enn den gjør i virkeligheten…

    StåleMarch 9th, 2010 at 07:44
