A comment on our last post raised the question “Where is the keeper?” Well, here he is, not in the same situation, but outmaneuvered.
A note on “Auto-ISO”:
Nikon’s implementation of this feature is still active when Manual exposure is selected. We like to use this feature for “action photography” under changing light conditions (as a soccer match”. In Manual, we set a shutterspeed to freeze the action and an F-stop with enough DOF ( or sufficient step down to get the best optical quality from the lens) and let “Auto-ISO” set the ISO. In this shot, we picked 1/1000 and f11 and the camera picked ISO1250.
