Flatonia

Flatonia

This is a real place, they actually still exist! We found it in a little Texan town called Flatonia. A name that reminds us about fairy tales, and in a way Flatonia is a place far, far away.. around 1300 people live here, and the town is known for its German and Eastern European heritage and the local “Czhilispiel” festival; the festival, named after Czech people who like to eat chili.  According to the Camber of Commerce it is

Centrally located between four major Texas cities, Flatonia’s prime location, home town values and forward-thinking community leaders combine to make this city the perfect locale for easy living, personal growth and abundant business opportunities.”

Those four major Texas cities are Houston, Austin, San Antonio and Victoria. So Flatonia is along I-10, a forgotten place, along the train rails, a place where you can find a blue shirt if you need one, and relax on the sofa outside …

.
