Dilapitated Gas Station in Colour

Dilapitated Gas Station in Colour

So, this is what it (yesterdays photo) looks like in colour.  It is surprising how different the B&W and colour version can be.

In our next post we will take you inside for a look (read this with the voice of David Attenborough)

.

Slik ser gårsdagens bilde ut i farger.  Det er overaskende hvor forskjellig bilder kan se ut i sort hvitt og farger.

I vår neste post skal vi ta dere med inn for en kikk (Denne setningen må leses med stemmen til Sverre M. Fjellstad).

  3. This capture brings to mind (I hope you don’t mind me linking, not trying to hijack) a shot I took in Lebanon, OH (and the subsequent B&W vs. Color debate I had with it).

For mine, I think I preferred the color, for yours I think I prefer the B&W… go figure. Great work.

  4. I like this perspectiva

  5. I kind of like it better in color. B&W version has much more contrast, and at least for this image that resembles quietness I prefer the subtle contrast that gives you the color tones rather than the contrast you get in B&W. Nice work!

  6. I think I prefer the black and white. The color with the HDR seems too much like a drawing to me.

  7. I prefer the colored version, gives an additional dimension…

  9. I prefer this photo (in colour) with the friendly colours and atmosphere.

  10. Very great perspective ! I often like the result of using wide angle lens.

  11. Begge bildene var flotte, men i farger så kom det enda mer fram av detaljer. Lekkert!

  12. I normally vote the BW route, but I think in this I prefer the color. I like them both but I think it’s the red around the door and windows. To me that screams old gas station. Very good!

  13. I think I like the B&W version the best because the details is much more visible in the B&W but that’s what I think :-)

  14. The color is nice, but this shot was better in B&W. While I do like the reds of the door and window frames, everything else positively glows in B&W.

  15. After viewing yesterdays pic I must say i prefer the coloured one. It’s really subtly coloured which makes it even stronger. I really get drawn into this one!

  16. Both images are really strong yet convey such different moods. Great composition and range of tones/light.

  17. What a difference.. From a horror movie frame in black a white, to a nice candy story in color :) .. Well, not exactly candy store, but still, the different mood between the photos is substantial.

  18. Colored more beautiful and activate my mind about this place. Great perceptive! Also I need super-wide-angle… me too. Bravo.

  19. Wow! It does make such a difference. I have to say, I’m partial to black and white photos, but the color one is interesting too. I like how you framed it with the walls.

  20. The composition is symmetrically so perfect, the lines are perfectly straight. All this is creating a illusion of depth on this image. Very well done

    ThomasMay 7th, 2009 at 07:57
  21. i vote also for the b&w version, but is a great composition. love how the middle of the image is framed by the two walls.

  22. Put me down for the color.
    Cheers

  23. Even though I like the b&w version a tad better they are both nice, and great documents of left and abandoned buildings. Nice work

    IvarMay 8th, 2009 at 21:57
  24. the position from where you have shot this image very interesting!

    joshi danielMay 9th, 2009 at 02:37
  25. Color really provides much greater impact and interest to this scene. It’s just nicer but if I had to explain it, I’d say the color juxtaposes the life and activity that was with abandoned emptiness that is. Whatever :) Anyhow it’s a great shot.

  26. Well I´m a sucker for HDR photos, so I´ll take the HDR over the BW (and the BW edition is´ent bad at all) any day.

Nice composition, I really like the way you get drawen into the photo.

    Hyg!
