These are great patterns made by the rippling water over the palm fronds. HDR or not, this result is quite striking.

What a great result. I'm glad you decided to show this photo :)
This branch/leaf looks like a skeleton of an ancient creature. At first look at this photo the impact is very strong.
Excellent!

I like the distortion the shallow water causes on the palm. Gives it something magical!

I like this photo a lot . Great perspective and very interesting 'palm frond' ( never heard of this word before ) but what I like the most are tones. Very pretty indeed !

Great shot, like how the diagonal lines draw the eye into the center of this image. Fascinating textures and details.

Most of us would have just walked past this oblivious to its presence. That's not just well noticed, its beautifully shot and composed.

I think it really works, actually. It looks like some sort of wrong-coloured Zebra lying on its back underwater. Interesting image.

Well, I like it. I love the composition. I like how it looks as though the frond has been preserved in lucite. I also run into that problem sometimes where my vision does not match the photo and try all the things you do to try and find it. One day, you'll learn a technique, remember this photo and it will be perfect for it.

Not having been there, I don't have the same problem as you. I like the shot as is and I liked your humble commentary as much.

i really like how the palm frond looks semi-submerged in the water with the ripples of water shimmering over it.. but i can't quite come up with a way to frame this scene uniquely so i think you've managed to pull this off just well.. that's probably how i'd shoot it also.. nice shot! :)

I think the result is a fine and interesting image. Maybe not what you had originally envisioned but a success none the less I think.
