Cold Texas Sunrise

Cold Texas Sunrise

This was on a cold and misty morning, in the south of Texas. The cold mornings are now gone and the first real heat and humidity is being felt.  Summer is soon here.

This is a power station near Brazos Bend State Park taken on the same morning as this.

.

  1. Superb smoothness in this study. That air looks thick enough to cut with knife !

  5. Outstanding shot. Many things to see here.

In North Texas it looks like we’re going to have one more round of “winter” coming late next week. But yeah it’s been way too warm way too soon.

  6. There is such a wonderful mood to this shot with the colour and the mist. The distant smoke stacks contrasting with that lone trees gives an almost romantic feel.

  7. Nice Shot. I really like the straight lines and the way the factory mimics the telephone pole.

  9. Beautiful serene image. I was wondering how this image will look without the power line and the post carrying those power lines.

  17. All the elements are wonderful and the atmosphere is wonderful with the cold misty frosty air.

  18. Nice mix of nature and technology. The placement of the pole separate from but related to (or echoing) the power plant works well, as does that diagonal sweep of wires at the top.

  19. Lys, linjer og kontraster i flott samensetting! Hva er en kald morgen i Texas? Litt annerledes en kalde heimlandet antar jeg :)

Takk for hyggelige kommentarer hos meg :)

  25. For me, there is something relevant here. The view along this road and the picture you should have stopped for should have included a cow. This looks like a road in the middle of nowhere and there are smokestacks spouting pollution in fresh air space. The utility pole adds to the mood of this. I love the colors in this. Nice!

  26. wowww… i like this kind of captures a lot!!!

    Marco MarquesMarch 10th, 2009 at 20:35
  27. My comment seems misstated. Along a road like this, one would expect to find a rural setting complete with cows, etc. Instead, we drive in ‘out of the way places’ and find polluting smokestacks where our pastures were. Anyone can find a cow, but this photo has relevance for me in a changing landscape. The utility pole, the haze and the great colors add to this feeling. A shot that only those with a good eye would have stopped for.

  30. well done composition. with out the source of the power, the telephone pole just wouldn’t be needed. beautiful colors too. cheers.

  33. This photo really evokes wide open spaces to me, but spaces that have been touched by civilization. Good eye to see this photo. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment.

  36. Lovely colours and contrast between nature and industry.

I bet your cold Texas mornings aren’t as cold as cold Scottish mornings – especially after a few weeks in Thailand!
