Train Art

Train Art

Train Art – or graffiti – There are some trains in the Houston area, and some of them are decorated with graffiti,  the name for images or lettering scratched, scrawled, painted or marked, sometimes regarded as a form of art and other times regarded as vandalism. Together with the official marks and signs on this part of the train – we found it rather fascinating!

This image was a hard to frame and align, as there are elements in both the vertical direction and horizontal direction, we decided to let the bright red take the lead…

.

  1. Well thought out and executed. Love this. It’s amazing how this would look horrible on a train passing by but make such a beautifully artistic presentation in a photograph. The colors are wonderful and vibrant, but I can still sense an undercoat of rust. Great detail.

  2. It’s nice to be able to capture a shot once in a while, where you have lots of colours without if feeling cluttered. This is a good example, cheerful.

  7. Great contrasts, and then it has to be in the eyes of the looker if it is vandalism or art :) This looks more or less like skribbling to me though. ;)

  10. Nice find. I like the bright and the washed-out colors. And the mix of “official” and “art” writing on the wall.
