Street Vendor
Istanbul’s streets are full of vendors selling their stuff. At night, it is mostly food. This guy had found a nice covered spot where the figures in the window would watch over him and he was doing good business. His chosen location was not ideal for photography, though. The majority of the light is from the window, so we did a lot of lighting of the shadows and subsequent noise reduction. While clearly not “exhibition quality”, there is something about the frame we like. As the web format is quite forgiving, we decided to post…
.

Stumble It!

Nice street shot…I LIKE IT!
Merry Christmas
it’s also a great opportunity for sharing these experiences as well.. thanks for sharing..
The composition works well with the street vendor and the storefront. Nice shot.
Shame the Active D-Lighting on your D300 wasn’t cranked up to full – might’ve got some more of the darker detail. Nice shot though. I like your composition.
Lovely scene of life, the colors and lightning are perfect.
I like the square format of this. I also like how the mannequins seem to form a small crowd. Good for business! If this man is selling food, he should really make it look more appetizing! I very much like the window lighting as it gives it a nighttime feel… which it was. Very nice. And how did we suddenly get to Istambul??
Great candid shot, you have framed it nicely with the window, it really looks like the mannequins are looking over him, making sure he is safe. Nice
Bildet var flott det!
Gøy med slike motiver.
A little fill flash would’ve lit him up nicely but this is still an interesting capture. I like the bold colors and brightness of the window display. Provides and interesting contrast.
Spooky, how the mannequins watch the street. Love the backlighting of the wet street.
Flott eksponert og komponert gatebilde.
Ønsker dere God Jul fra oss i Drammen.

a great reminder for Christmas. I can feel the Christmas through this picture.
Merry Christmas
Nice how the actual subject of this image is in the shade, and the background gets full focus!
A Merry and peaceful Christmas to you and yours !
What do you mean not exhibition quality! Photography is about manipulating light and capturing an atmosphere… which is clear here. I like it.
