Inside the Cactus Flower

Inside the Cactus Flower

When the beautiful Cane Cholla (Opuntia Spinosior) cactus bloom there are feast for these little bees. We think the colors of the pink cactus flower and the yellow pollen is great – the bee is probably just eating and collecting – and helping pollination!

Picture is taken in Bandellier National Monument in New Mexico during the blooming season in late  June.

And since VFXY have a macro theme this week – this is our contribution.

.

  11. Ufattelig vakkert og skarpt bilde. Blir sittende og måpe her på morgenkvisten.

  20. W O W ! ! ! FANTASTIC!

Lighting, colors, amount of detail, composition ==> SUPER!

Normally I hate so see close ups of insects (especially their parts) but this one looks very nice to me. Highly probably this will be the best VFXY Macro theme contribution.

  50. Great Macro shot there…the details in the insect’s face are perfect. I have noticed that bees are pretty messy eaters, always a face full of pollen, haha.
